There is a place where I can fix my computer about 30minutes away. I'm elated. That's all.

Shannon,
We love your blog. We're so glad to be able to keep up with your adventures and have this ongoing connection with you.
Sorry to hear about the computer trouble. Your latest post yesterday at 8:30 pm sounds like it may be fixed by now, and we hope it is. If it's still on the blink don't despair, it's almost always possible to recover the data from the hard drive, even if your machine doesn't find or recognize the disk.
By all means, keep updated antivirus and antispyware and firewall software on your machine, and scan your flash drive immediately after plugging it into your machine, any time you've used it in any other device. A good antivirus or antispyware program should protect your machine automatically from any threat that might try to execute itself upon insertion of the flash drive. If you use the Mac OS built-in firewall be sure to keep it updated.
Here are 3 places to look for programs for Mac: 1) http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=t&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLJ,GGLJ:2006-35,GGLJ:en&q=antivirus+for+mac
It sounds like you're keeping busy, getting some good experience, learning a lot and havving a good time. Thanks for sharing all the ups and downs. Can't wait to see more pictures.
Take care, Shannon,
Daniel & Mimi
PS - Will try to post this in comments on your blog, if not too complicated. Do you get comments that are posted? I.e., is that as good a way to communicate with you as email for stuff that is not of a personal nature?
